Where it runs
Waymo, an Alphabet subsidiary, runs the largest robotaxi service in the United States. On September 1, 2026 it opened its first public rides in Denver, San Diego and Tampa, bringing the count to fourteen cities where passengers ride with nobody at the wheel. On October 14, 2026, San Antonio, San Diego and Tampa dropped their waitlists.
What we watch
The stated goal for the end of 2026 is one million paid rides a week. Waymo does not publish a regular weekly figure; we report numbers when the company or Alphabet releases them, with the date.
Outside the US
London is planned for 2026. Munich is targeted for late 2027; as of August 25, 2026, no permit had been granted.
